NDC Will Not Accept Attempts to Block Ghanaians in Togo from Voting – Asiedu Nketia

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made it clear that it will not tolerate any efforts to prevent Ghanaians living in Togo from participating in the upcoming general elections. According to NDC National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia, the party will challenge any discrimination against Ghanaians crossing the border to exercise their voting rights.

Speaking at a rally in Ziope, a constituency along the Ghana-Togo border, Asiedu Nketia questioned the logic behind the ROPAL Law passed by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). He noted, “They want us to believe that Ghanaians flying from America can vote, but those crossing from Togo to their hometowns are not allowed. We shall not accept that discrimination.”

He urged voters in the NDC stronghold of Agotime Ziope to be vigilant, warning that the NPP may try to suppress their votes by preventing their relatives in Togo from crossing the border. Asiedu Nketia also appealed to the people to vote for the NDC to alleviate their suffering, saying, “If you want to continue living under that suffering, it is up to you.”

Charles Agbeve, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate for the constituency, called on voters to turn out in large numbers on December 7th, 2024, to help the party achieve its target of 25,000 votes.
