John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has announced plans for a national dialogue on education if elected president in the upcoming 2024 elections.
His proposed dialogue would bring together stakeholders to address critical issues such as food shortages, inadequate infrastructure, and limitations on free speech for school administrators.
During a meeting with the clergy in Kumasi on Monday, November 11, Mahama emphasized the importance of collaboration to resolve these challenges. “We will hold a national education dialogue if we win the polls,” he said. “Our education sector is at a crossroads, and addressing challenges like the lack of textbooks, furniture, and other essentials requires open dialogue with key stakeholders involved in policy implementation.”
Mahama’s commitment to an inclusive approach reflects his focus on strengthening the foundation of Ghana’s educational system to ensure quality and accessible education for all.
