Lionel Messi’s World Cup Records Towards FIFA 2022.

Lionel Messi’s long-awaited World Cup swan song begins as the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner seeks his last shot  with Argentina. The World Cup flag is the only thing to say of Messi’s stellar history. He says ” numerous personal victories, numerous club trophies and last year’s America’s Cup I won”. The international arena is over.

Coincidentally, 36th place is an amazing unbeaten streak even for Lionel Scaloni’s men, who have entered the tournament undefeated since 2019.  And it’s fair to say that Messi peaked at the right time with 12 goals and 14 assists in 19 appearances for Paris Saint-Germain this season. Messi will shine in Qatar, and the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner is no stranger to one or two world titles.Takes a closer look at Messi’s World Cup record as Argentina kick off their glorious Group C rivalry with Saudi Arabia on Tuesday.

Messi did not win a medal for Argentina in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018, but he will take part in his fifth World Cup in Argentina this winter.In his first World Cup, Messi, still a young talent, came on as a substitute in the last 16 minutes of the group stage against Serbia and Montenegro and scored a goal in a 6-0 win over Argentina, coming on as a substitute in the quarter. Final defeat in Germany.

Despite playing every minute of the 2010 World Cup, the tournament was a memorable one for Messi as Albiceleste again lost to Germany in the quarter-finals, recording just one assist and zero goals in five matches. In 2014, Messi scored four goals in the group stage, but his dreams were trashed in the German final after adding just one assist in four consecutive knockout matches.
