Management on Monday announced the signing of former Wa All Stars skillful attacker, Emmanuel Gyamfi to augment the current squad. Since then questions have been asked by some supporters over the latest recruit as he appears so new to many Kotoko fans.
The club’s Communications Desk, headed by Kwaku Ahenkorah has gathered useful information; facts and figures about Emmanuel Gyamfi and Asantekotokosc.com is glad to share.
To start with, the 23-year-old Emmanuel Gyamfi returned from loan spell at Armenia’s FC Shirak last season to his parent club Wa All Stars. As a result, Gyamfi missed the first seven matches of the season due to a delay in the arrival of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).
When the ITC finally arrived, he missed two more matches because of injury. Gyamfi however played 21 league games out of which he was adjudged as the man of the match in 11 of them.
Emmanuel Gyamfi provided 10 assists in goals scored by Wa All Stars that season.
Alongside Clifford Aboagye, Gyamfi was part of the national U-20 side, the Black Satellites who played in Turkey. It’s expected that, his inclusion in the team will help interim head coach, Michael Osei’s quest to see Kotoko at the top of the league table.
