Vincent Kompany has been ruled out of this summer’s European Championships, the defender has confirmed on his Facebook page.
The Belgian has been plagued by injuries this season, with Kompany limited to just 13 appearances in all competitions.
Writing from his hospital bed, the 30-year-old confirmed that Manchester City’s Champions League semi-final exit was his last appearance before next season.
“I’ll miss the Euros,” he wrote. “To me that’s very sad news.”
