Kenichi Will Stay

Hearts of Oak have confirmed head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi will be staying at the club after meeting on Thursday.

There were media reports that the former Aspire Academy players development coach has been told his services were not needed.

Sportscrusader.com revealed that the reports were not entirely accurate. Our report added that the board were scheduled to have a meeting on Thursday to decide the fate of the Japanese-American trainer.

The meeting was a back and forth one. According to sources, the majority share holder of the club told the Strategic Committee he doesn’t have the finances to pay any ‘severance package’.The club agreed a to hold on to Kenichi, with the club’s official website tweeting:

Sack reports concerning the future of Kenichi Yatsuhashi at Hearts of Oak emerged due to reports of several disputes with the management of the club and alleged disdain for authority.

The management of the club were also reported not happy with their manager discussing internal club issues on social media and his unwillingness to cooperate with certain decisions.

Kenichi started his football life at Accra Hearts of Oak with some good football that enticed fans of the Ghana Premier League club. His team after 15 games in the first round of Ghana’s top flight are 4th with 25 points. Hearts of Oak have the best away record in the league but have struggled to replicate their away performances at home.
