The member of parliament for Atebubu Amantin constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region, Sanja Nanja has been sued by the Queen mother Atebubu, Her Royal Highness Nana Afia Donyina for his insubordination towards her and the Traditional council.

This follows the mp’s use of abusive words on the Queenmother following a demonstration she led in the defense of the embattled DCE of the area, Sampson Owusu Boateng aka Castro.

The DCE was disqualified in the parliamentary primaries conducted by the NDC last year, 2015 and was subsequently given a note of dismissal by the Brong Ahafo regional coordinating council earlier this year, 2016.

The DCE, Sampson Owusu Boateng who described the development as unfortunate and void since he was appointed by the president and therefore should be disappointed by the president but not the RCC and hence failed to comply by the directive which created a brouhaha in the District.

The Queenmother, who was also of the view that the development was been masterminded by the MP organized a demonstration in defense of the DCE and accused the MP of inciting his clan men thus the “Konkomba’s” to launch an attack on the DCE who took to his heels in an interview with PINKNEWS.

The Mp in a quick response took on the Queenmother describing her as “silly and a drunkard”.

The Atebubu traditional council banned the MP from all public gatherings and later invoked curses on him with the Amantin traditional council also in a way of solidarity taking same steps against the MP even though he rendered an apology in a separate

interview.

The Queenmother who seems not to be happy with the whole incidence has taken a different dimension by hauling the Mp to the Wenchi High court and is demanding an amount of GHC 500,000.

A press release signed by Kofi Amofa, Secretary to the queen mother said she took the decision because the abusive words used on her by the MP “has provoked public disaffection for her and has also exposed her to public ridicule and contempt.”

The queen mother is praying the court to award damages against the defendant in the sum of GHc500,000.

An order of perpetual injunction is also being sought to restrain the defendant from writing, printing and publishing further words and defamatory statements against her.
