UEW ON FIRE AS FORMER VC STORMS CAMPUS TO TAKEOVER POSITION

Following injunction from former Vice Chancellor of (UEW) University of Education, Winneba, the former embattled VC, Prof. Mawutor Avorke has stormed the campus to brief the media.

According to him, the ant graft agency EOCO indicates allegations leveled against him .Avorke and six other officers of the university concluded black and white. They didn’t abuse their office nor were in violation of any procurement process and are taking over the office.

Incumbent Vice Chancellor, Prof. Rev Anthony Afful Broni has suffered injunction order from the Winneba High Court in a case between one. Kingsley Amoakwa and Prof. Afful Broni as 1st Respondant and the University of Education, Winneba Main campus as 2nd Respondent.

Briefing the media, Mr Mawutor Avorke revealed to pinkfmnews Mireku Nyampong that the initial venue for the briefing was changed after consultations with the police. Also the former Vice Chancellor of UEW thanked and said he’s ready to get back to work.

Another press statement sighted by pinkfmnews indicated that, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo Markin and NPP Effutu are now in support of Prof. Avorke.

In addition, Prof Frimpong Kakyire Duku, UTAG president UEW chapter in his speech indicates UTAG are in full support of the coming back of 3rd vice Chancellor of UEW Prof Mawutor Avorke.

He added that UTAG UEW implores everyone to lend the professor Mawutor the much needed unified support. Also encourage to discharge his lawful duties as vice Chancellor and to lead as he ought.
