Ibrahimovic to retire from international football

Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic is set to retire from international football after Euro 2016.

The former PSG man is his country’s all-time record goalscorer having found the net 62 times, but he looks set to draw the curtain on an illustrious career for Sweden after this summer’s European Championship.

Swedish publications Expressen and Dagens Nyheter confirmed the news but forward stated that his age will not impede plans to continue playing professionally.

“Age is just a number, it’s all mental; if I want to do something, I will do it,” said the outspoken 34-year-old.

Ibrahimovic is currently without a club having finished his contract with PSG, and has been linked to numerous clubs including Manchester United.

He has however refused to reveal where he will be playing next despite stating that he has plans already made.

“The future is written, I’ve already made a decision, I made it long ago,” he remarked.
