Popular Ghanaian man of God and founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, Prophet Nicholas Osei, widely known as Prophet Kumchacha, has once again stirred the hornet’s nest with his outspoken views—this time backing polygamy as a path to longevity and peace in marriage.
In an interview , Prophet Kumchacha candidly expressed his wish to take three wives, emphasizing that he would do so if he had the financial capacity.
God, please assist me in acquiring wealth so that I can marry three wives,” stated the contentious preacher, eliciting a mix of laughter and strong criticism from the audience.
A Man Who Weds Just One Woman Will Die Young” Prophet Kumchacha supported his assertion with unconventional reasoning, suggesting that polygamy contributes to a man’s longevity.
He suggests that men who marry only one woman may have a higher risk of early death due to the pressures associated with monogamy and a perceived lack of harmony at home.
A man who weds just one woman tends to die young,” he argued, implying that having multiple wives can distribute emotional and domestic duties, alleviating stress for a single woman—and consequently, for the man himself.
According to Kumchacha, nearly all married men have mistresses. He further claimed that most married men engage in extramarital affairs, often in secret, and he argued that polygamy is a more straightforward option.
He asserted that ‘99% of married men have mistresses,’ suggesting that rather than concealing infidelities, it would be more honest and morally acceptable to embrace the practice of marrying multiple women in accordance with religious and cultural traditions.
