HISTORICISING THE EVOLUTION OF STATE DEMOCRACY AND MONEY POLITICS.

The inception of the 4th republic was in 1992, moving from revolution to democracy the NPP  boycott parliament hence Ghana engaged in one party system of government from 1996 to 2000.

From that time, people developed interest in voting even without the influence of money.

Monetization started from about the year 1996 to 2000 where people shared stuff like matches and bulb syringes during their election campaigns.

Therefore going on, an individual cannot venture taking government position if they don’t have enough funds.

Money has destroyed our democracy because now with no money an individual cannot venture government positions.

Individuals who possess good leadership skills and are of high intellectual resource who can help the country can’t venture into government positions without huge sums of money in their personal coffers.

Primaries which are organized to elect the forerunners of parties is influenced by the highest bidder and it is even so at the assembly level.

The state has also been destroyed by money in the sense that attaining justice in this country is being influenced by money.

The expose in 2015 by the investigative journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas where 34 magistrates were caught on hidden camera receiving enticements of money, goats, sheep and even foodstuff confirms it.

Currently the most talked about topic in the country is galamsey, the people’s quest for money not caring for the environment and water bodies hence destroying our water bodies and putting our health at risk.

Money has indeed had a great effect on our state democracy.
