Kotoko Captain Urges Team to Stay Focused as Title Challenge Builds
Frederick Asare, captain of Asante Kotoko, has lauded his teammates for their impressive start to the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season. The Porcupine Warriors are currently second on the table with 14 points, having registered four wins and two draws after six matches, with one game in hand.
Reflecting on the team’s strong performance, Asare acknowledged the collective effort but stressed the need to remain focused as they chase greater goals.
“We are all happy with our progress and the quality we have shown in our games,” Asare said in an interview with the club’s media team. “This is what the club deserves, and every one of us will keep working hard to achieve the bigger objectives. For now, we just need to stay focused and take it game by game.”
The captain also commended the players for their positive attitude, attributing their unbeaten run to teamwork and dedication.
Looking ahead, Kotoko is set to face Legon Cities in a rescheduled fixture at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Wednesday. They will then travel to the Crosby Awuah Memorial Stadium to take on Basake Holy Stars in Matchday 8.
