THE FIGHT AGAINST CORRUPTION NEEDS ALL HANDS ON DECK- GHANA INTEGRITY INITIATIVE

Michael Boadi, the Corporate Affairs Manager of the Ghana Integrity Initiative and the local chapter of Transparency International an anti-corruption body has lauded the Supreme Court over its order to the Attorney General and Auditor General’s departments to retrieve state funds that have illegally been pocketed by private individuals and some state officials.

The Supreme Court yesterday, had ruled in favour of Mr. Ace Ankomah and others who petitioned the court in 2016 over some missing state funds by ordering the AG’s office and that of the Auditor General to retrieve about GHC 40 billion that has been missing.

Commenting on the issue, Mr Boadi who spoke on Pink Fm’s morning show hosted by Kwame Okyere Junior, lauded the court for making such a viable decision.

However, he advised that for the success of this new development to be attained  depends on individual citizens. This cannot succeed by a nine day wonder show , rather the people and more especially the media should be persistent in following up till the end.

Meanwhile, the Government should cease the lending of money from other nations as this is also a contributing factor to corruption and rather protect the one in the nation’s coffers, he added. He also urged state officials to pledge to themselves to deisit from corruption.

In all, he maintained his stance on the fact that if this new development should succeed it all depends on we as Ghanaians.
