Hajia Abibata Shanni Mahama Zakaria,Deputy CEO of Microfinance and Small Loan Center,MASLOC maintains her innocence. This is after she was allegedly accused of giving out sums of money to delegates.
These moneys she gave out have been termed as bribes by the Center for Democratic Development (CDD). According to the CDD,Ghana’s watch arm,Hajia Zakaria allegedly used state money to bribe delegates.
These activity was done during the recently held primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). But did not end well in her interest.
Hajia however denied these claims. She says they were applications that were brought to MASLOC and she personally did not work on them.
According to the Deputy boss, people who applied for loans had qualified and therefore was the necessity to give them out.
According to the CDD,the MASLOC Deputy CEO,had over loaned out money. They had distributed money above the permitted number of receipients.
Hajia Zakaria has however disapproves to such allegations.According to her,she does not see anything wrong with giving out loans.
She describes it as “an unfair impression of dolling out state money”.
She says”I wish to emphasize that it was MASLOC that distributed the loans and not me as an individual”.
Hajia Abibata still maintains her innocence and stated that” I do not regret that 35 groups were honoured from Yendi, because she cant have the opportunity and not help you my people”.
However, the CDD has opened up its plans to petition to the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice,CHRAJ further investigate the matter.
