Despite Tuesday’s injury scare, Cristiano Ronaldo joined his Real Madrid teammates in a behind closed doors training session ahead of the Champions League final.
It was rumoured he would be forced to miss the game on Saturday, against Atletico Madrid, after injuring his thigh in a collision with goalkeeper Kike Casilla.
Fears were allayed when the situation appeared not as serious as first thought, and he was in action again at the club’s Valdebebas complex.
Having netted 16 goals in the competition this term, Ronaldo is chasing his own record of 17, set when they last beat their city rivals at this stage two years ago, securing La Decima.
Scoring in Milan’s Stadio Giuseppe Meazza will also make him the first player to do so three times in the final since the Champions League era began in 1993.
It may however be an anticlimactic end to his final season with the club for Alvaro Arbeloa, who missed the session by working in the gym amid doubts about his fitness.
