Bad news for Real Madrid, as Cristiano Ronaldo was forced to leave the team’s training session ahead of schedule after a knock with goalkeeper Kiko Casilla.
There are just four days to go until the Champions League Final and Ronaldo will no doubt be monitored closely to ensure that he’s ready to go, but the earliest comment from club sources indicate that this was just a precautionary measure to avoid further damage.
Ronaldo has been nursing a muscle injury ever since Villarreal visited the Santiago Bernabéu, and while he was able to make his return to the pitch and play, Madrid’s training and medical staff have been very careful with his recovery.
The Portuguese star should be able to feature next Saturday, as he usually is willing to play through pain as he did two years ago in Lisbon when he managed to complete the game with a damaged knee that caused him headaches for months after the match.
