CAF Confederation Cup- Medeama spank Shendi 2-0 to inch closer to group stage

Medeama continued their impressive exploits in the CAF confederation cup by progressing to the playoffs with a resounding victory over Al Shendi.

The Mauves did not disappoint the teeming fans that thrown the Essipong stadium on a working day, Wednesday, as goals from Abass Mohammed and Kwame Boahene helped to a 2-0 win over Sudanese club.

Medeama scored two goals in quick succession in the first half to put the game beyond the reach the Sudanese.

Diminutive winger Kwame Boahene open the floodgates with a cheeky flick before top scorer thus far this campaign, Abass Mohammed doubled the tally with a fabulous free kick from 25 yards.

But Medeama finished the game with plenty to worry about as defender Paul Aidoo and Eric Kwakwa suffered knocks.

Medeama will know their opponents for the CAF Confederation Cup final qualifying draw on Thursday.

The winners of the 1/8th round of the Orange CAF Confederation Cup will be pitted against the losing clubs of the 1/8th round of the Orange CAF Champions League, to determine the eight clubs for the group phase.
