Ghana’s Black Stars are set to take on Angola’s Palancas Negras in a pivotal AFCON qualifier at Estádio 11 de Novembro on Friday. Despite Ghana’s current standing in the group, head coach Otto Addo is optimistic, viewing the match as a turning point to ignite the team’s qualification campaign.
“Angola will be 100 percent ready,” Addo said, dismissing the notion that Angola might relax due to their qualification status. “It’s an away game, and it’s going to be very tight. But mentally, the boys are ready.”
With only two games left in the qualifiers, Ghana is under pressure to secure points and improve their standing. Addo praised the squad’s unity, noting the integration of new players despite injuries. “The atmosphere is really good,” he said. “The new players have adapted well and understand our playing philosophy.”
A victory over Angola would not only boost the Black Stars’ morale but also strengthen their bid for a spot in the upcoming AFCON tournament in Morocco.
