Bawumia Pledges Greater Development and Accountability in Adaklu

Vice President and NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has promised the people of Adaklu and the Volta Region continued development, assuring them of even greater progress if elected President of Ghana.

During his campaign tour of the Volta Region on Tuesday, Dr. Bawumia addressed community leaders, including chiefs, imams, and clergy, highlighting the achievements of the NPP government in the region over the past seven and a half years. He contrasted these with what he described as the NDC’s underperformance during its 16 years in power.

“We have brought potable drinking water to Adaklu, built a youth resource centre and a stadium, established a district police command, and provided a magistrate court with a bungalow. We are also constructing an Agenda 111 hospital here in Adaklu,” he said, listing some key projects initiated under the NPP government.

He criticized the NDC for failing to address crucial infrastructure needs, particularly the poor state of roads, saying, “The NDC was in power for 16 years, yet they didn’t build the roads for you. We are making significant efforts in many areas.”

Dr. Bawumia positioned himself as a “problem solver,” pledging to tackle the challenges facing the Adaklu community. “Government is about solving problems. You identify the people’s challenges and work to address them,” he stressed.

He also took a swipe at his main political rival, former President John Mahama, arguing that the NPP’s approach to governance would be more accountable. “With the constitution allowing me two terms, unlike my opponent who can only serve one term, I will be more accountable to you. I’ll work harder to earn your trust and seek re-election.”

Dr. Bawumia called on the people of Adaklu and the wider Volta Region to support his presidential bid, promising an inclusive vision for Ghana’s progress. “We are building a future that includes every Ghanaian, and together, we will move this country forward,” he concluded.
