Ahmadu Tuariq, the general secretary Awutu Senya East

Ahmadu Tauriq, the general secretary for Awutu Senya East constituency describes the vice president (Dr. Bawumia) as a drunkard on pink Fm’s Omanbapa kasa on 13th August 2020.

Honorable Tauriq in a discussion with KD, the morning show host of Pink FM, referred to Dr. Bawumia as a drunkard. He reasoned that calling Ex- President Mahama incompetent whiles Job creation figures says otherwise points to a state of drunkenness. Honorable Tauriq mentioned that the NDC grew the economy at 3.6 meanwhile the NPP is growing it at 0.9. Thus, comparing the NDC administration to that of NPP and claiming incompetence for NDC is unreasonable. Honorable Tuariq claimed the economy now is worse off than the former President’s term according to IFS. “And you compare 3.6 to 0.9 and call 0.9 as a mark of competence! It is only a drunkard or lets say somebody on drugs, who will say such.”

It is no secret that the Vice President, Dr. Bawumia also continuously refers to the Mahama administration as an incompetent one. However, the recent name calling has earned Dr. Bawumia a response from Honorable Tuariq since it came with empirical evidence. On August 12, 2020, the country celebrated International Youth Day. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in a speech addressing the NPP youth wing said “I sometimes wonder whether former President Mahama has indeed been in office before”. Because of the way the former President is carrying himself around as a new candidate.

He added “What the youth of this country should ask is, what did John Mahama do for the youth in his eight (8) years of governance”.

According to the general secretary, he can’t identify the reason NPP is describing Mahama as “incompetent”. The youth should just look back at the development Mahama made and make the right decision for this year’s election.
