Atuahene, Opare ban Reduced

The Appeals Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has reduced the bans on two officials of the Hearts of Oak, but upheld the fine.

Barimah Atuahene (Board Member) and Kwame Opare Addo(P.R.O) were banned and fined two years and GH¢ 6,000 respectively.

The club exercised their right to appeal the ruling of the Disciplinary Committee, pleading for the adjudicating body ‘temper justice with mercy’.

The Appeals has reduced the ban imposed on the officials, reducing the it one year, but withheld, thus, they will play the GH¢ 6,000.00 each as imposed by the DC.

This ruling is in variation to the earlier decision of the Disciplinary Committee which banned Mr. Atuahene and Mr. Opare Addo from taking part in any football related activity for a period of twenty four (24) months after they were found to have cast insinuations which incited the club’s supporters ahead of their  match against Wa All Stars in Accra.
