Renowned Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame has revealed exclusive insights into his decision to turn down an offer from Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, the flagbearer of the Movement for Change political party.
In a unique interview, he revealed that approximately three months ago, the former Minister of Trade, Industry, Private Sector Development (PSD), and Presidential Special Initiatives (PSI) reached out to him with an offer.
The acclaimed musician mentioned that during the meeting, Hon. Alan Kyerematen outlined the ten criteria they evaluated before choosing him as their running mate.
Okyeame Kwame noted that they highlighted several qualities, including his keen business insight and substantial social media presence, among others.
OK acknowledged that although the offer seemed very appealing and offered indulgence, he believed it wasn’t the right moment to accept it, as he had not adequately prepared his family—especially his two teenage children—for the challenges that come with a political career.
The “Insha Allah” hitmaker expressed that if he had been given around a year to properly prepare his family, he might have accepted the offer. However, since that wasn’t possible, he had to turn it down.
Not long ago, Hon. Alan Kyeremanten announced that he has chosen lawyer, broadcaster, political activist, Pan-Africanist, and political strategist Kwame Owusu Danso as his running mate.
