300 journalists to attend Real Madrid media day

Nearly 300 members of the press will attend Real Madrid’s training ground on Tuesday for ‘media day’ ahead of the Champions League final.

Los Blancos travel to Milan to take on Atletico Madrid on Saturday night, where they will look to win their 11th European championship.

But first, the club from the north side of the Spanish capital will play host to a record number of media outlets.

Coach Zinedine Zidane will hold a press conference at 10:15, which will be followed by an open training session.

Practices are usually only accessible for the first 15 minutes, but Tuesday’s session will be open from start to finish.

After training, thirty-two outlets have been given the chance to interview players, and after that squad members will then head to speak with the rest of the media.

Among those accredited by UEFA and the club are more than 100 television channels, as well as journalists from Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America.

For members of the press that are interested, Los Blancos will also provide tours of the facilities in Valdebebas, the club’s training ground.

Inaugurated in September 2005, Ciudad Real Madrid features a high performance training center, Estadio Alfredo di Stefano, a residence for the first team, and a new basketball arena, among other amenities.
