SEFWI BODI DCE CALLS ON FARMERS TO PRACTICE MULTIPLICITY SYSTEM OF FARMING

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Sefwi Bodi District in the Western Region, Solomon Fuachie has called on farmers to practice a multiplicity farming system in order to attain resounding economic benefits.

He was addressing a large crowd that of farmers that had organized to witness the district’s ceremony to mark this year’s farmers’ day.

Giving a keynote address on the theme ‘Agriculture: A Business Response to Economic Growth’, the DCE reiterated the need for farmers to recognize farming as a business sector and hence refrain from a single farming practice.

“There is a greater need to recognize farming as a business, which will result to a very great economic growth for persons and the country at large. Most farmers do not recognize farming as a lucrative business….there is now a lack of cocoa growing lands and hence the need to resort to a diversified system of farming, now no matter your profession every one of us can engage in any of the farming systems in order to achieve a very good economic status” He told the crowd.

Meanwhile, Mr. Fuachie admonished the youth to also recognize farming as a profession and hence engage themselves in farming since the district is ever ready to render any support and assistance that would be needed by them.
