Yahaya Mohammed welcomes his new Captaincy role at Aduana stars and the responsibilities it comes with.
The 30-year-old striker was handed the Captain’s armband by new Japanese head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi after holding a meeting with the management of the club some few days ago.
After the meeting, the Japanese trainer summoned the key members of the playing body to inform them about the new roles assigned to Yahaya Mohammed and Paul Aidoo as Captain and Vice respectively.
In an interview with Pink Sports, Yahaya Mohammed said, “Most importantly, I would have to train more in other to be the be the leader on the field of play”
“I have to be the leader in all aspects. When the team is not performing, I have to rise first to lead the team as the captain”, he noted
However, the former Asante Kotoko and Inter Allies striker pledged to accord respect and encouraged all supporters of the club and especially the young players to channel their grievances to the management of the club through him.
“It is a huge responsibility assigned to me [by the head coach] but I hope with my training and comportment, everything will be successful”, he added.
Meanwhile, the Dormaa-based club is preparing for their 4th 2018 CAF Confederation Cup fixture against AS Vita Club in DR Congo this Sunday, July 29.
