Time is a measured period during which an action, process, or condition exists or continues. In other words, it is a no spatial continuum that is measured in terms of events which succeed one another from past through present to future.
According to Royal Canadian Institute, the world’s standard time was invented by Sir Sandford Fleming in the year 1876.

Decades ago, the only tool used to measure time was the human shadow created by the sun rays. At a point in time, human realised his inability to accurately read the time with the shadow medium, the new tool which was invented to measure the passage time was hourglass.
The hourglass concretely represent the present as being between the pass and the future.

Then, we had the invention of the 24hour analog clock which has three hands for seconds, minutes and hours and numbered from one to 12.
These hands twirl 360 degrees on the clock to achieve an amount of time. The second hand circulates 360 degrees to achieve a minute.
Also the minute hand circulates 360 degrees to attain an hour .The hour hand twirls to complete 24 hours or a day.
Now, due to technology, digital clocks and watches have been invented to easily tell time. As compared to analog, you have to apply some calculations to be able to read the time accurately.
With regards to watches we wear, the question is, Is it for necessity or for fashion?
Watches now, is not only used to tell the time but also to add value to fashion and class. Designers have also branded new wrist watches for both male and female. Watches comes in metals, rubber or leather. Mostly the leather is used anywhere, either for office or industrial fields and the metal, mostly gold or silver is normally worn to events
Previously, people find worry to go and repair their watches, But now, they feel confident to wear the wrist watch to add up fashion attachment.
Some Ghanaians expressed, the watch we wear now places value to enhance personality .If one is seen wearing a golden branded wrist watch, he or she is considered as a rich or prominent person.
Also the stopped watch can be worn whiles the mobile phone is ready to tell the time.
The watch has become an asset which is not only used to tell time but to also attach fashion enhancement.
