WHERE IS OUR DEMOCRACY CITIZENS ASK?

Ghanaians demand the whereabouts of democracy in the country as their leaders refuse to listen to their opinions.

These opinions and views are concerned with the state of the nation.
Citizens are not spectators. Although many

Ghanaians belong to different groups and parties, we have a common goal. This goal is to see our Country progress and become better than before.

As a country whose democracy owns an enviable position in between and among other countries, we should be at it again, holding high the legacy left for us.

This is our precious democracy and kudos to those who keep it winning all days. However, various incidents taking place says otherwise.

As citizens and people in a human society, its without doubt that we will disagree on things at a point in time.

That’s the power of democracy. Democracy is where people are allowed to take part in decision making .

It also allow us to decide what we want per majority hands that will be lifted to represent the masses. As the popular saying goes “majority Carries the vote”

It is unfortunate that we have come to experience a year like this. The year 2020 has been full of perils but we shall overcome.

To make our voices heard, then participating in the elections is the answer.
We have screamed loud to the air, the sea and the land yet none of them comes to our rescue.

Tempering our democracy is when we allow the four years of the governing government to extend more than the period enshrined in the constitution.

This could give an upper hand to the military to rule us once more after the four year term elapses. I do not imply that there could be a possible Coup. But in order to tell the beauty of our democratic story, we must vote in even these trying times.

Your vote is your power becomes a popular song in times of every four year in Ghana ( Election Years) and here we are to do same as citizens. I am a citizen and I will register to Vote. December 7 (seven), a day of different waves.

This wave will remain in history, be it remaining the incumbent or changing, history surely have hands in the activities of that day. Let’s just prepare a fresh page of history but this is not a draft of it.

As we are eager to register and vote in these trying times it is incumbent on us to stick in our minds the safety protocols of the enemy that finds delight in working among crowd.

Many do not fear to mention but I do. Let’s just protect ourselves from Covid-19.

As a citizen who is eager to register and vote come December, I am out here promising wrestling to register. This has been the most worried moment of my life.

I must agree that I have always been part of those who won’t suffer to get things like this done. My village is a safe place to get all these done without any headache.

Chale! Accra or any other city is tough. My third day of monitoring this exercise, waking up all night just to count them in vein. My days are still counting and I still can’t get this thing done easily.

I have been suspecting myself because the safety protocols are not adhered to enough in my area where I found myself to register. If it should be the action of the people at my polling station alone,

I will not even bother talking of Covid-19 because I am make to believe that there is no Coronavirus when comes to the situation of wresting to register.

Let it be known that we are in difficult moments and the president assures that “this too shall pass”.
Also, NCCE are responsible to educate citizens . NCCE are the voice of the citizens therefore they should champion on it.

Also empower CSO to be independent to be able to voice out on issues and also citizens should be part of decision making.
