The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has left Ghana today Wednesday, 4th July, 2018, to lead the Ghanaian delegation for a 2-days official state visit to the Republic of South Africa.
This comes after President Akufo-Addo received an invitation from the South African President, His Excellency Cyril Ramaphosa.
The visit of President Akufo-Addo is aimed at expanding the already existing strong relations between the two countries, as well as exploring other areas of co-operation to their mutual benefit.
Whilst in South Africa, the President will visit a cross section of the Ghanaian community there.
The President will return to Ghana on Friday, 6th July, 2018.
However in his absence, the Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, shall, in accordance with Article 60(8) of the Constitution, act in his stead.
