All over the world, there are issues which are mostly addressed by the governments.

Issues like child trafficking, drug addictions, prostitution and many others, have become a great disturb for the leaders in the world. But have you notice unemployment as a factor which is bothering the leaders of late? And Ghana is not an exception.

Unemployment in Ghana is one of the issues that the governments have to deal with and more so, fight against. Is there any possible means for government to fight stop unemployment in the country?

Unemployment by the ‘Economics help’ is defined as a situation where someone of working age is not able to get a job but would like to be in full-time employment.

Low level of education, lack of adequate skills, job selectivity, limited job opportunities, as well as bad government policies are some causes of unemployment in Ghana.
Fighting unemployment is a possible way to provide people with opportunities to be independent and meet most of their needs essential to them.

Unemployment is a factor that results to mass social ills including theft, illegal business, robbery and assault. It has been confirmed that the basis of most crimes are hunger and poverty. In general, unemployment can be the main cause for most crimes in a country.In a survey made by Lewis and small, the results clearly indicates that, crime has been significantly affected by unemployment rate in a country.

Generally, the research proves that unemployment has a significant relationship to the number of dishonest crimes being committed in a society. This includes economic crimes like theft, fraud, car conversion and many others.

Statistics from trading economics show that Unemployment Rate in Ghana increased to 2.40 percent in 2017 from 2.30 percent in 2016. Unemployment Rate in Ghana averaged 5.41 percent from 1991 until 2017, reaching an all time high of 10.40 percent in 2000 and a record low of 2.20 percent in 201.

Unemployment affects masses of people in a country but the youth in particular is greatly affected by it. Most of the perpetrators of these crimes are the desperate, homeless and poor unemployed youth.
They have no means to make ends meet and thus are very much desperate for cash in their pockets to run their day to day affairs .Some of them then tend to a quick method to acquire money due to their desperateness to satisfy their needs, and some of these methods are not genuine in any social or moral way.

Some individuals become a burden to their families and the society at large. Unemployment stirs up abusive behaviors in many individuals especially the youth. This prompts up the increasing number of poverty in numerous ways and thus makes the youth resort to illegitimate way of living in other to move in line with the mass.

Unemployment is a general issue when it comes to the rising rate of crime across the country. Unemployment and poverty are issues the government should seriously deliberate on. The outcome of these actions must bear fruitful and workable solutions, a plan that would bring hope, among many citizens especially the youth.

Productive works must be established and made available to the people to help fight unemployment and reduce crime rate in the country.in as much as we want to reduce unemployment we must note that it is a general responsibility to lead young people especially the youth in a proper to help reduce the situation.
