THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT OWE ANYBODY ANY CLARIFICATION OVER THE DISMISSAL OF THE ENERGY MINISTER

Energy expect Kojo Opoku says the President does not have to give any explanation as to the dismissal of the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko.

According to him the president is the head and he appointed the Energy Minister and so has the power to dismiss him if his work is not to the satisfaction and expectations of the country.

In an interview on Pink FM’S morning show Omanbapa Kasa, he said “in this world when you are the head of organization and there is an issue in the organization the head would be held accountable for it whether good or bad.”

He said this in view of the fact Hon. Boakye Agyarko is responsible for his own dismissal and thus the President does not have to explain himself for that.

The Energy Minister should have done everything in his power to see that everything was on track because as the President appointed him, he also has the jurisdiction to call for his resignation as well.

In accordance to the AMERI deal, Hon. Boakye Agyarko said the deal was a good deal when most people said the deal was a bad one and  would not be in the interest of Ghanaians. He did not also show any remorse in his talk because to him the deal was a good one and so he did not show any remorse to account for his wrongdoing.

He said he does not side with the news going round  that the president has used Hon.Boakye Agyarko as a sacrificial lamb.

He further stated that the President does not need to explain himself as we were all in this country when civil organizations and other dignitaries called for the Energy Minister’s resignation.

“for once we have a President who listens to the general public concerning misconceptions in the various ministries, and  the ones proven to be true  takes action on it”, he said.

The dismissal of the Energy Minister is the right decision as the Minister said he has a better deal but when thorough investigation was conducted it turns out to be a bad one.

He said,” the NPP said they will produce better results than what the NDC produced but Agyarko failed so thence his dismissal.”

When asked if something can be done about the AMERI deal to cancel and help the nation save some money, Kojo Opoku said no its no! it would be difficult because the contract has gone to parliament and has been approved too.  So the way forward is to make it better.

Boakye Agyarko could not produce the results needed hence his dismissal is something the President should come out and explain whilst we all know.

He said negotiation to make it better is possible.

He concluded that, the NDC has brought an albatross. We must solve it other than that other than that we leave it as the situation is.
