SWAG TO INVITE LIBERIA PRESIDENT GEORGE WEAH TO GRACE ITS 43RD AWARDS

Newly elected president of Liberia, George Oppong Weah is to be invited by the Sport Association of Ghana (SWAG) to grace its 43rd awards ceremony which will take place on April 28, 2018.

Speaking at the launch of the upcoming awards night at the MTN House in Accra, Kwabena Yeboah, President of the Association said the SWAG is doing its best for Africa’s only player to win the World Best player as the special guest on the night, after Ghana’s President, Nana Akufo-Addo, graced the last edition.
According to the broadcaster, for the past 42 years the awards has been the most transcendent and distinguished of all ceremony.

He further explain that, “the most enduring 43 years old it’s know mostly inspiring and edifying that we blaze the trial as we set up to honor our deserving sportsmen and women for the 27 calendar year.”

He mentions that, those deserving executives and members, both current and past who have contributed will be awarded.

Kwabena Yeboah added, this year’s SWAG award night is fixed for April 28, 2018 at the Banquet Hall to honor the talented men and women who will be retaining from the commonwealth Games in the coast.

The event is set to honor their hero and heroines for 49 nominees including individual and institution in 21 categories of 18 spawning discipline. The sport personality of the year will be announced on the night of the event.

The SWAG President mentioned a few names of nominees for the footballer of the year as Daniel Nii Adjei of TP Mazembe, Christian Atsu of New Castle, England and Boakye Yaidom of Red Star and Thomas Partey of Athletico Madrid.

Those nominees for Best Local Footballer of the year are Thomas Abbey of Accra Hearts of Oak, Amos Frimpong of Asante Kotoko,and Stephen Sarfo of Berekum Chelsea.
