Chief of Assin Basofi-Ningo expresses worry about how Politicians insult them(Chiefs)through empty promises.
Nene Tetteh Aku-Sacki(I),Chief of Assin Basofi-Ningo in the Central Region has expressed his worry on how Politicians insult them(Chiefs).
He said, consistently Politicians come to them and give numerous promises especially during campaign time.Meanwhile they(Politicians) know they cannot fulfill them. He said they do this because they need votes from the citizens.
However, the Chieftancy Act states that it becomes an insult to the Chief if anyone fails to fulfill his promise to him(Chief).
He advised his fellow Chiefs to be vigilant and bold to challenge Politicians who come to them with empty promises.
He urged Politicians to desist from such behavior because it’s an insult to them.
Finally,he called on the Assin North District Member of Parliament,Hon.Abena Durowa-Mensah and the Assin North District Chief Executive for the construction of the road.
He said the Assin Nyankomase-Sienchem road was in a bad state. He stated that the road should be constructed before the year ended.
This was because the road has become very dangerous and difficult for easy movement of vehicles and motor cycles.
He said no construction of the road,no campaign in the community come 2020.
