Rwanda sack stand-in coach Kanyankore four days after appointment

Ghana’s 2017 Afcon opponents Rwanda seem to be waddling in the pool of technical challenges as reports indicate that stand-in coach Gilbert Kanyankore has been sacked just four days after his appointment.

Jimmy Mulisa, who was also the assistant to Johnny McKinstry, who was relieved of his duties last Thursday, will take control of the Amavubi squad on Wednesday

Kanyankore was appointed following the surprise sacking of Johnny McKinstry with two weeks to the clash with the Black Stars.

The local coach, who is in charge of top-flight side APR, took over as the Amavubi coach just hours after the British coach was sacked.

He signed a one-year contract that will see him work only when Amavubi have commitments and not as a full time employee.

In effect this is a temporary arrangement that will see Kanyankore take over the reins of Rwanda in the last AFCON 2017 qualifier in Accra.

But reports emerging from Rwanda have it that the APR FC tactician has been sacked with reasons yet to be given.
