“SOMEONE WANTS TO SABOTAGE THE CID BOSS” – MAURICE AMPAW

The lawyer, Maurice Ampaw,in an interview made mention that someone(undisclosed) wants to sabotage the Director-General of the Criminal Investigative Department (CID) over the release of Nyantakyi’s statement on Anas’ exposé to the media. As to who wants to sabotage the CID boss, he did not say.

He made this known when speaking to a Kasoa-based radio station, Pink FM, on the question if the DCOP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah should resign as raised by the Minority in Parliament on the issue of incompetence. He said that fingers should not be pointed at the boss but rather at people working directly under her. Speaking to Pink FM’s host of Omanbapa Kasa, Kofi Asamoah, the lawyer, Maurice Ampaw says the CID boss should set up a committee to investigate those responsible for the leakage.

However, he suggested that the case of Kwesi Nyantakyi should be transferred to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) or the Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) so as not to create prejudiced minds.

“They should excuse themselves from the case. The disclosure of the case has tainted the investigations. It has created prejudiced minds. Nyantakyi and his lawyers may say they do not have confidence in them so to me they should transfer the case to EOCO or BNI to continue whatever they are doing”, he said.

In addition to that, he thinks that the CID boss should find out those people sabotaging her. As an early report have indicated A-Plus attacking her and others raising concern that she is for President Nana Addo Danquah and the New Patriotic Party.

He added the statement that, he does not think she personally leaked the said statement to the media but internally someone did that to bring her down.

Maurice Ampaw’s interview disagreed with Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka who is the Member of Parliament for Asawase in the Ashanti Region and also doubles as  the Minority Chief Whip in Ghana’s Parliament on the issue that the Director-General of the CID should resign immediately.
