The municipal chief executive of the Awutu Senya East Municipality of the Central Region, Hon. Michael Essumang Mensah has assured the people who have been affected by the flood in his municipality that there are a lot of measures that will be put in place to resolve the flooding issues.
In his words, he said a lot of people have been affected because they have built in flood prone areas and in water ways.
He added that this one the very main cause of the issues but the assembly is still putting measures in place. At the time he made mention of several organization who had started working on the problem.
He said some contractors had visited the place for inspection while the hydro authority had also been there earlier to concrete the lands . He added that the NADMO is also working hard to solve the issue.
But in a meanwhile, he advised landlords to ensure that their permits are granted by assembly engineers before putting up any building.
In conclusion he said the flood rate compared to that of last two years and last year has drecreased.
Hon. Michael Essumang Mensah gave this response after the residents of Anor cried over poor drainage system which has consequently caused floods in the area.
