ROBBERS NABBED AFTER ATTEMPT TO ROB FAILED.

 

On the 12th of June 2019, at the early hours of 10pm, the Mankessim Divisional Patrol team led by D/CPL. Amponsah and three other men on board an S/V number GP 4994 driven by L/CPL. Foster Sekyere, received and information to the effect that there was a robbery going in at Mankessim-Samaria road.

The team proceeded to the scene of the crime and met a group of men about 7 in number. They were driving a Hyundai Atos taxi with registration number AS 8798-12 barricaded at the road with concrete blocks.

The robbers on seeing the police coming towards toward their direction bolted. They were given a hot chase and two suspects Alex Gardener,20 and Cosmos Acquah,23 were eventually apprehended.

Due to the timely arrival of the police, the robbers could not carry out their operation.

However, a search conducted on them at the spot revealed 2 knives, a screw driver, 4 nails, a mobile phone, tramadol tablets and a kiss condom.

The robbers were taken to the Mankessim charge office where they were detained.

The taxi was also impounded for further investigations.

The road has since been cleared for vehicular movement.
