Residents of the Anor town in the Awutu Senya East Constituency in the Central Region have threatened to beat any revenue collector who will come asking for tax or property rate.
According to the people, they do not see the use of the property rate and other taxes .
Again they said there are lots of problems which have remained unsolved despite all the monies paid.
Residents complained that the area gets flooded anytime it rains.
Owing to this, school children have to be carried on their parent’s backs before getting access to their schools. Coupled with these, most people resident in the area run away from their homes so as to avoid any disaster.
Some traders also complained of their inability to work due to the flooding.
They added that,they have sent several complains to the Municipal Chief Executive and the Member of Parliament for the area.
Nevertheless, they have turned deaf ears to their problems refusing to drain the Okudru River which is the cause of the flooding in the community.
In view of that, they have threatened to beat any revenue collector who will come around there are unsolved problems
