RADJA NAINGGOLAN JOINS INTER FROM ROMA ON A 4-YEAR-DEAL

Inter Milan have officially completed the signing of Radja Nainggolan from Seria A rivals AS Roma on a four year deal.

The 30-year-old Belgian midfielder who retired from international football after being snubbed by Roberto Martinez for the World Cup squad joined the Nerazzurri for a reported fee of £33.5m.

“Radja Nainggolan is officially a new Inter player,” a statement on the Nerazzurri’s website reads.

“The Belgian has signed a contract with the Nerazzurri that runs until 30 June 2022.

“Now, having fully matured as a player, it’s time for the Ninja to approach a new and exciting challenge in an Inter shirt. Welcome to the city of Milan, Radja!”

“The club would like to place on record its gratitude to Nainggolan, and wishes him well for the future.”

As is confirmed by multiple reports, Inter will pay €24m in cash and sacrifice Davide Santon and Primavera starlet Nicolo Zaniolo.

Nainggolan has spent most of his professional career in Italy, representing Piacenza, Cagliari and Roma. In 31 appearances, he found the back of the net 4 times during his last season at AS Roma.

“Affection from the fans is important for any player and it means that they’re enthusiastic, just like I am,” Nainggolan said. “I hope that we can now enjoy more happy times together. Spalletti? My best season was with him and I now hope that I can do just as well.

“I am at the Coach’s disposal and I am pleased to be back working with him. Why I chose Inter? Confidence is key and I received calls from Director Ausilio, the Coach and Zanetti. They all made me feel important and my decision was simple. I am ready to go ahead of this new adventure.

After making his debut in 2009 with the national team, he made 30 appearances and scored six goals in the process.
