The Constituency secretary of the New Patriotic Party in the Awutu Senya East Constituency, Kasoa, Central Region, Michael Mensah has stated that President Mahama needs to be impeached as soon as possible for breaching the law.
“This is a clear breach of the provision of our law,” he said, adding “Article 284 of the Constitution provide that a public officer which the President is shall not put himself in a position where his personal interest conflicts or it’s likely to conflict with the performance of the functions of his office.” He said.
Reacting to the issue, the Constituency Secretary added that this is a clear indication that the presidency is corrupt therefore depicting the President’s reluctance in the fight against corruption.
The politician also added that he is gathering a pool of lawyers to initiate an impeachment process against the President.
“I now have three lawyers, I am gathering more in addition to start the impeachment process” He disclosed.
President Mahama has been woefully criticized and condemned for receiving a controversial gift of a Ford Expedition worth $100,000 from a Burkinabe-contractor, Dzibril Kanazoe.
