PRESIDENT NOMINATES NEW ELECTORAL COMMISSION BOSS

The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed a new Electoral Commission (EC) Boss.

In a release signed by the chief of staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, a new EC boss is said to replace Madam Charlotte Osei and her two deputies.

Head of the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA) Jean Mensah is said to become the new Chairperson of the Electoral Commission with Mr. Samuel Tettey and Dr. Eric Asare as her new deputies respectively.

Following a committee established to investigate petitions brought against the commission, some members of the EC also retired which included Mrs. Pauline Dadzawa, which has added an additional vacancy. As a result, Mrs. Adwoa Asuma Abrefa is said to replace her as a new member of the EC.

In the release, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo, is hopeful that the new appointees will discharge their duties profitably.
