POLITICIZING THE ELECTORAL COMMISSION IS DISTURBING- KOKU ANYIDOHO

During an interview at UTV, Koku Anyidoho made a statement that the President appointing Jean Mensa as the new EC Chairperson is a sign of politicizing the electoral commission which is disturbing.

The Deputy General Secretary for the National Democratic Congress, Koku Anyidoho emphasized that the President appointing Jean Mensa as the new EC chairperson is a sign of involving politics in the electoral commission.

Koku Anyidoho some few months ago was arrested by the police after predicting that the President, Nana Akuffo Addo will be overthrown at a press conference over the controversial Ghana-US Military cooperation agreement.

The arrested Deputy General Secretary of the NDC said he doesn’t have a problem with the president appointing Jean Mensa as the new EC Boss but he has problem with him involving politics into the electoral commission. He also made reference to the Former President, John Dramani Mahama that he did not discriminate on who to work with when it comes to the electoral commission unlike Akuffo Addo sacking Charlotte Osei and assigning Jean Mensa. The outspoken NDC secretary said when they were in power and appointed Charlotte Osei as the EC Boss, the NPP leaders opposed the appointment and said Charlotte Osei is an NDC member. Therefore, she will manipulate the results of the 2016 election in favor of the NDC.

Koku Anyidoho also said if the NPP never accepted the credibility of Charlotte Osei because she was appointed by John Mahama and have sacked her, then they appointing Jean as the EC chairperson is also a way of politicizing the electoral commission therefore Jean is an NPP member.

The Deputy General Secretary said that he feels sorry for Jean because she was trying to hide the fact that she is an NPP member some time ago but she cannot hide it anymore and she has fallen into NPP’s trap for this appointment.
