PNC DAMNS STATE INSTITUTION

The General Secretary of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr. Atik Mohammed, has attacked state Institutions and their officials for not ensuring the safety of both public and private property in the country.

Ghanaians today are unpatriotic to protect state properties from going waste,” he stated.

Speaking on the Kintampo Waterfalls disaster that claimed about 20 lives, Mr. Atik stated that individuals with government institutions do routine maintenance on their personal property than that of the state and this has led to some of the disasters in Ghana.

According to Mr. Atik, this unenthusiastic attitude has led to the deplorable nature of public places, which pose a great danger to the people.

Mr. Antik has blamed authorities of the Kintampo Waterfalls for the recent death of 20 students of the Wenchi Senior High School who were on excursion to the site.

He noted, if the authorities had done some maintenance checks, the accident could have been prevented and the calamity would not have befallen the country.

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Bantama, Mr. Kwabena Kokofu also blamed the leadership of the country for doing little to maintain state property.

He said both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and NPP stand accused of avoiadable accidents such as that of the Kintampo Waterfalls and many other places across the country.

Mr. Kokofu urged Ghanaians to develop the culture of maintenance to ensure state properties are safe to usw.
