OVER 500 FISHERMAN BENEFIT FROM FREE PREMIX FUEL AT GOMOA EAST AS BAN ON FISHING IS LIFTED.

The Member of Parliament for Gomoa East Constituency in the Central Region, Hon. Kojo Asemanyi has supplied free premix fuel to over 500 fishermen at Gomoa Nyanyano and Gomoa Fetteh in the Gomoa East District in the Central Region.

Addressing the media, Hon. Kojo Asemanyi hinted that, the aim for this wonderful donation is to help these fishermen get fuel to start their fishing since most of them have spent money being at home during the ban on fishing.

According to him, since ban on fishing is being lifted June 15, there is the need for him to support them as their Member of Parliament. The law maker however thanked the fishermen for abiding by the rules and regulations during the ban on fishing by the Ministry of Fisheries and Aqua Agriculture. He also hoped that fishermen will get bountiful harvest after leaving the sea for a period of time he added.

On the other hand, Pink Fm news presenter Mireku Nyampong spoke with the Chairman of the National Premix Fuel Committee Nii Lantey Bannerman and also charged fishermen who fish illegally by using chemicals like DDT,Dynamite and lighting fishing to desist from it and that who ever is found guilty of these laws will not be spared.

He added that, the Ministry of Fisheries and Aqua Agriculture is also doing it’s best to put a stop to this illegal fishing. Finally, Pinknews spoke to some beneficiaries who benefited from this donation.
