I AM NOT SARGENT LEE- STONEBUOY

In spite of their intense rivalry, dancehall sensation, Stonebwoy has revealed that he listens to Shatta Wale’s songs.

According to him, he enjoys Shatta Wale’s songs the same way, he believes, his arch rival also enjoys listening to his.

Making the revelation in an interview on the Cosmopolitan Mix on Joy FM with Doreen Andoh, the dancehall artiste said Shatta Wale has released a couple of hit songs that he loves.

Asked which of Shatta Wale’s songs he listens to, he disclosed that, “I listen to everybody’s songs. I listen to Shatta’s songs and I know he listens to mine too. Shatta has done a couple of bangers. I was dancing to one at the 4Styte. This one has caught my ears also the one [that has] Sargent Lee (Taking Over) and the Ayoo too, it’s more Ewe for me.”

Reacting to reports that the ‘Taking Over’ hit track was directed at him, Stonebwoy said he doubted that.

“Sincerely speaking I have to be real, I chanced upon the ‘Sargent Lee’ thing twice and this is the third time I’m hearing it and I think at a very reputable place where I know I have to start thinking about it and wanting to also find out what it really means and what they are driving at because listening to the song, I have to be sincere, I do not hear any shots thrown at me,” he said.

The Run Go hit singer added that he wouldn’t hesitate to reply Shatta Wale should he do a song taking shots at him.
“Some of the other songs may have thrown shots but that is well allowed once it doesn’t go beyond a certain limit because when it goes beyond limit, when it gets personal, I will get personal,” he warned.

“For the Sargent Lee word like you say, I don’t know – if it means something good, I take am sharp but if it doesn’t, then I don’t know what they are talking about [and] I wish to know…” he explained.
For him, “My pen is too expensive” to sit and write songs to attack people in his songs, the articulate singer shot.
