WE ARE NOT DISAPOINTED IN THE GOVERNMENT,SPDA

The Chairman for Spare Parts Dealers Association(SPDA), Siaw-Ampadu has spoken on behalf of the Association that they do not fill disappointed by the government as claimed by the opposition party.

The Member of Parliament for Ajumako Anyan Essiam Constituency has displayed a high level of disappointment in the ruling party for failing their promises to spare parts dealers.

The ruling party according to him, in the 2017 budget had assured spare parts dealers of the removal of various duties on spare parts.

“Only for us to be informed yesterday that, they were only referring to only import duties leaving the rest to remain as it is and even with the import duties, it will be affecting some selected spare parts, he remarked.

Speaking on Okay FM, the Chairman of Spare Parts Association has said “Government had only promised us the removal of import duties on spare parts together with 1% of special levy and with taxes, the government had reduced it from 17.5% as issued to us by the NDC to 3% VAT rate and with this, it was not apportioned to only spare parts dealers only but every organization that pays VAT can benefit from the 3% ”
