NEW KASOA POLYCLINIC NEARS COMPLETION

The Kasoa polyclinic, an ancillary work of the Kasoa Interchange is about 90% complete according to the project’s supervisor.

After the completion of the edifice, healthcare delivery within the Kasoa municipality is expected to improve since it comes with modern technologies in healthcare delivery.

In a tour to the site, reporters from Pink Fm saw laborers who were vigorously working.

Supervisor at the site Ing. Sylvester explained that, the edifice has office a senior medical superintendent, females and males separate wards, children wards and a VIP ward including an intensive care ward.

It also has a laundry and a kitchen that comes with a canteen.

The engineer told newsmen that, they are expecting to complete the edifice  by November this year since they are now at the finishing stage thus ceiling, painting and other finishing touches.

Meanwhile, a morgue that is attached to the project is also complete.

Enumerating their challenges, Ing. Sylvester mentioned that, the area that was demarcated for the project is waterlogged and so needed too much filling which has even accounted for a little delay in completing the work.

Kasoa is now regarded as the fastest growing city in the whole of West Africa but has only one government owned health facility which is too small to accommodate the number of patients that throng to the facility daily.

It is therefore expected that, after the completion of this modern facility, health care delivery would improve and also give access to several number of patients.

In a recent visit to the current polyclinic, reporters from Pink Fm realized that, there was pressure on the facility at every section.

Charles Kojo Odoom, PRO of the Kasoa Interchange Project and ancillary works expressed that, the new facility therefore revives the hopes of residents within the Kasoa municipality and other areas and would therefore see to it that progress of work at the site is expedited.
