NDC RACE: SPIO DENY ALLEGATIONS OF WITHDRAWING FROM CONTEST

Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah one of the main contenders of the NDC flagbearership race has denied allegations that he has withdrawn from the contest.

Earlier on Friday, speculations were circulated that, the astute politician has withdrawn from the race to support one of the candidates.

But speaking to Pink FM’s Akwasi Addo in a breaking news interview, Dr Spio rubbished the claims stating that it is been circulated by opponents just to slim his chances of winning the flagbearership.

He stated also that, he has not had any conversation with any person concerning his resolve to be in the race or whatsoever.

“I am still in the race and on the 5th position on the ballot paper, this is a complete falsehood circulated by persons with malicious intent. They see me as a threat and would want to use to that to demoralize my supporters” he stated.

Dr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah therefore urges delegates and supporters to rubbish the allegation and work towards a resounding victory in tomorrow’s polls.

Dr Ekwow-Spio Garbrah since the beginning of his campaign has toured various regions and constituencies in the country. He has spoken to delegates of the NDC imploring them to choose him as the flagbearer in order to win the elections not for just a term but for two terms.

He has enumerated a seven point agenda to transform and resource the National Democratic Congress, it’s followers and Ghana as a whole.

He is a former envoy to the United States in the name of Ghana, a former minister of communications as well as trade and industry.

He is the first politician to have set precedent by becoming a constituency secretary for the NDC even after serving in various high ranking capacities.

He has promised to give prominent to the grassroots members of the party.
