The MTN FA Cup Committee is considering a change in date of this year’s final to 04 September, Pinkfmonlinegh.com understands.
Originally, the organizing body had planned to play the final later this month, 28 August, at the new Cape Coast Stadium.
The change in date will coincide with the celebrating of the Oguaa Fetu Afahye (festival for the people of Cape Coast) and that will boost crowds at the stadium.
This year’s final will be competed by less fancied sides Bechem United and Okwahu United after Sunday’s quarter-finals triumph at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Bechem beat second-tier side Wa Rockets 2-0 and Okwahu, two-time winners, dispatched Premier League side Liberty Professionals 3-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after extra-time.
