Manchester United misfits Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin free to leave for Everton in January.

Jose Mourinho will not stand in the way of Memphis Depay or Morgan Schneiderlin if they want to leave Manchester United for Everton in the January transfer window.

Depay and Schneiderlin have not made a single Premier League start this season and are unlikely to be involved against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park tonight.

Everton manager Ronald Koeman is keen to sign Schneiderlin, with whom he worked at Southampton, and take Dutch compatriot Depay on loan.

Each player cost £25million in the summer of 2015 but Mourinho said: ‘I am always open to listen to offers for every player.

Any player who knocks on my door and is not happy and wants to move, when the offers are correct, I will never stop a player from leaving, even if it is to a rival. When Mata left Chelsea to come to United, no problem at all. I am always open.

‘What I can say is that I am happy with the squad. I would like my (current) squad to be my squad until the end of the season.’

Mourinho also told Luke Shaw that he needs to step up when he returns from injury. The left back will miss his fourth game in a row at Palace tonight.

‘He needs to improve,’ said the Portuguese.

‘That is normal, he’s a kid. I am not expecting a young player to be perfect. A young player makes mistakes, has things to learn, things to develop.’
