Sakho tested positive for a fat burner after a game against Manchester United.
However, WADA could still have taken the decision to appeal against UEFA’s ruling, keeping the Frenchman in limbo until this week.
On Tuesday, WADA issued a brief statement in which it confirmed no further action would be taken.
‘We reviewed the case, but decided not to appeal,’ a spokesman told the Daily Telegraph.
Sakho had accepted the consequences after he discovered he had failed the initial drugs test and he never asked for his B sample to be examined.

Liverpool learnt of the news on April 22 and did not pick him for their game against Newcastle the following day. Shortly after UEFA handed out their initial punishment, which cost him his place at Euro 2016.
UEFA spent the intervening time conducting their own private study to ascertain whether the fat burner contains a banned substance.
Ultimately, they absolved Sakho of any blame but WADA opted to review the case to determine whether or not an appeal was worthwhile.
An Achilles injury put paid to the defender’s chances of starting the season with Liverpool and he was sent home from the club’s pre-season trip to the USA following a reported disciplinary issue.
Sakho could now find himself farmed out on loan.
